WORK WITH ME

  • I provide dialect coaching for professional and educational theaters, as well as private lessons for actors, corporate professionals, D&D characters, and anyone looking to master a new accent.

MY COACHING METHOD

  • PEOPLE

    Accents are deeply personal and shaped by much more than just geographic location. My coaching strives to be descriptive, rather than prescriptive. I will help you explore the relevant cultural context of your character and what factors would influence their voice.

  • POSTURE

    Oral Posture is the configuration of the vocal tract during speech. Locking into the correct posture gets you about 50% of the way. We will work on building awareness and muscle memory for the desired accent.

  • PROSODY

    The musicality of an accent is often the most perceived feature by others. We will build up an inventory of melodic and rhythmic patterns in order to deploy them improvisationally when embodying the desired accent.

  • PRONUNCIATION

    The final step is mastering the characteristic features of the desired accent. Through the use of Lexical Sets, IPA, and listening examples, we will determine how certain sounds are made and in what context they are deployed.
